3G ENABLED MOBINNOVA BEAM COMING SOON


The Mobinnova elan is known for being one of the first laptops based on Nvidia’s Tegra platform. We have been hearing about this device for some time, but now more details have emerged. The Tegra platform essentially consists of an ARM-based processor and some high performance graphics. The ARM processors are highly power efficient and Nvidia graphics are good at handling HD video. As a result of this the laptops running on Tegra platform will be able to run for 5 to 10 hours playing HD video.

The company has not yet announced the price or launch date of Mobinnova elan. But sources claim that the device will be renamed Mobinnova Beam in the US. It will run on Windows CES, which is a low power operating system capable of running ARM processors.

The Mobinnova Beam can easily decode 720p video. It is expected to be available at a subsidized price in the US if you purchase it with a 3G data plan from a wireless service provider.

FIRST ANDROID NETBOOK TO HIT THE MARKET SOON


The Skytone Alpha 680 smartbook is famous for being the first convertible netbook based on the Android platform. Other than that there is nothing special about this device. The Alpha 680 doesn’t have very attractive specifications or capabilities.

Actually this tiny device with its 7-inch (800x480) touchscreen display runs on an ARM 11 533 MHz processor with 128MB RAM. The standard storage option is a 1GB flash drive. Optional upgrades include 256MB RAM and 4GB of flash storage. Users who need more storage space can use the SDHC slot for expansion.

The Alpha 680 was announced in May this year. It is expected to hit the market soon.
