Acer is projecting to contract out orders for 15 million Aspire one netbooks in 2009 to Compal Electronics and Wistron, as per the news revealed to notebook industry sources. The resources pointed out that Quanta Computer will be staged out the production sequence of the 2nd generation Aspire one by the 2nd quarter of 2009. However, ever since Acer is planning to confront shipments of 20 million in 2009, the other 5 million orders may still descend to Quanta. Misunderstandings sandwiched between Acer and Quanta over their Netbook planning when the 2 companies created cooperation on the Aspire one, have gone Acer unsatisfied, and noted the sources.

COBY ANNOUNCES SUB 200 NETBOOK AT CES
Coby has taken the wraps off their sub $200 line of netbooks and by sub we mean $199. But before you get your hopes built up Coby was quick to announce that its just a "market research project" although they said that they would be coming to the market (no release date of course).
