MSI has released an updated version of its U2xx series of notebooks. The new MSI Wind U230 looks very similar to the U200/U210 notebooks already available in the market.

Major updates pertain to the processor and the operating system. While the U200/U210 laptops run on Windows XP, the U230 comes with Windows 7 Home Premium. The processor has also been upgraded to dual core AMD Neo X2.

MSI has added the new GX403 to its gaming notebook series. This latest addition to the MSI gaming series is powered by Intel’s Centrino 2 Duo processor technology with Core 2 Duo processor and Intel PM45 Express Chipset, up to 4GB of DDR2-800 RAM, a SATA Hard Drive with capacities of 160GB, 250GB, 320GB or 500GB. It also boasts a NVIDIA GeForce GT 130M graphics card with 512MB of DDR3 video memory and options to choose either a DVD or Blu-Ray optical drive.

The new GX403 also includes a 4-in-1 card reader, WiFi, Gigabite Ethernet, an optional BlueTooth, Dolby Surround Sound and a 1.3 megapixel web camera. The GX403 packs either a 6-cell or 9-cell battery and comes preloaded with Windows Vista Home premium.

The MSI GX403 gaming laptop has a 14.1-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1280x800. It measures 330(W) x 240 (D) x 25~37(H) mm and weighs 2.2Kg with a 6-cell battery. Other notable feature of the GX403 are the ECO Engine power saving function, MSI vivid image enhancement technology and the Turbo instant CPU overclocking button. The GX403 uses the Color Film Print technology to brighten up its exterior and has colored W, S, A, D buttons on the keyboard for die hard gamers. Though details on specs are abundant there is no word on the pricing as yet.

X410, the latest addition to the MSI X-Slim series of notebooks, is based on the AMD Neo platform. It is an update to the previous X400.

The MSI X410 has a 14 inch LED backlit display with 1366x768 pixels. It comes with an ATI Radeon X1250 GPU which is part of the Neo Platform. The GPU is powerful enough to handle HD 1080i video content. Up to 2GB of RAM can be installed on this notebook. The standard storage option is a 320GB hard disk drive. It can be upgraded to 500GB.

Other features include 1.3MP Webcam, optional Bluetooth, Wi-Fi b/g/n, an SD card reader, HDMI port and gigabit Ethernet. 4 or 8 cell battery options are available. The notebook also features AMD’s PowerNow! technology which is expected to improve battery life.
