Point of View Mobi ION 230

There is no need to debate that the Mobi ION 230 is in a class of its own. Although it’s a netbook, and carries some of the similar specs of many other netbooks it still manages to stand out in things such as design and power.

Under the hood the device is equipped with NVIDIA’s ION platform (as the name suggests as well as an Atom N230 CPU. You can find 1GB of RAM doing the memory business and the usual 160GB HDD. From what we know about ION we wouldn’t expect the best battery life from this thing but Point of View (the manufacturer) does promise flawless 1080p playback as well as DirectX 10 and Shader Model 4.0 support as well as HDMI out in exchange for the battery life.

The display has been put at 10.2 inches which packs a 1024x600 resolution. On the subject of price and availability, this little bad boy will be coming to the European markets in only a few weeks and the price is set at €349 ($495). No word on a US release date, and in case the device is too gaudy for you, you are welcome to a more conservative black color option.

So what do you say EU readers. Getting one or not?
