The Zip-ANG keyboard seems like a Liberace stimulated Midas stroke infused atrocity. The Gecko Surfboard is very power efficient and would consume just 5 watts of power. NorhTec says that the Surfboard is about the same size as a typical keyboard, but it is a bit thick.

The Surfboard will be able to run Linux, Windows CE or Windows XP. While the Asus Eee keyboard is a multimedia device with an HDMI port, the Gecko Surfboard is different. It is meant to be a low cost primary computer. It has a VGA output port for connecting to a monitor. And if no monitor is available you can plug in a TV using the composite jacks. Other features include Ethernet, headphone, mic and USB ports. The Gecko Surfboard will cost around $99.

No people, we’re not talking about a netbook here. What you are looking at is a full fledged notebook that is packing an AMD processor (those things don’t come in netbooks).

The Compaq CQ60-419WM is packed with such features as an AMD Sempron SI-42 processor, NVIDIA GeForce 8200M graphics, 3GB of DDR2 RAM, 160GB hard drive (yes, yes we know its small) and a DVD burner. Wal-Mart has these babies for only $298. The model is not that new as it has been on sale for quite some time now (granted for $170 more), but the latest price cut is enough for any barging shopper to get one.
